Today has finally been the day where I have had the opportunity to switch off from my real life and spend some time in my virtual space after what seems like forever. We moved houses last weekend and I just could not focus on anything till the house was in order – my brain refuses to work when there’s clutter around. I had a few unproductive days at work as well thanks to this situation and in my attempt to get used to the new routine. We are such creatures of habit!
It’s always challenging to uproot yourself and move baggage from one spot to another but the silverline in all this is the welcome change it brings about. I used to be the kind of person who detests change, and worries about it’s consequences. I would like the comfort of tried and tested methods but some unforeseen events in my life changed that. When life throws you a challenge, it gives you no options – you just have to go with it. It was unsettling in the beginning and it took a while to find my footing again, but the beauty of these challenges is that they bring about those rebellious demons inside of you who are not ready to succumb to the situation but rise to it. And slowly and steadily you start liking the thrill that change brings. It’s the thrill of something new and exciting and mysterious, you don’t know what it will bring but you are hopeful that it brings you joy and happiness and success.
Now, change is hope for me. What has changed inside me is my attitude towards change. I hope for good things to happen and not fret about what could go wrong. It’s all about perspective at the end of the day. Changing your perspective from a negative to a positive somehow makes the results more positive or at the very least makes you see the glass half full and hot half empty. If there’s one thing you have to change, change your perspective to something positive, something that stands for hope and happiness.
