I have had a very eventful week as I sit here writing this post and as I reflect on it, what is life without some excitement? It’s exciting, getting out of your comfort zone, talking to random people you don’t share much in common with, giving presentations in front of large amounts of people, doing things you would have never done before. Such moments are usually preceded by great amounts of nervousness and sweaty palms and followed by a strong feeling of exhilaration and excitement. I wish it would be easy, to reach this euphoric sense of excitement, but I guess it’s all part of the game!
To share another big excitement in my life, I am now the proud owner of a beautiful Michael Kors bag – my first luxury possession ever! I would have never thought to spend on these very expensive, high end bags, but when my husband gifted this to me the other day, I could not contain my excitement. The leather, the design, aah I am smitten. I can’t take my eyes off it!
As you can see, my beautiful bag is in quite a bright color. It’s the perfect foil to all my “basic” outfit fantasies. How I see myself wearing this bag is with very basic pieces – it’s one thing I learned a long time ago, there should be one focus point for your outfit. I would style it with a basic black turtleneck dress, a crisp white shirt and blue jeans, a white jumpsuit, grey midi dress – keeping it simple, yet brightening it up with a nice pop of color.
For this outfit, I kept it basic with my favorite white top of the moment (Zara, White Bell Sleeved top), basic blue skinnies (Zara as well) and my staple nude heels. I love how the bag contrasts with this casual, classic outfit and adds a visual interest to this look.
As for accessories, I’m currently in a stack it up with gold phase – whether it’s the earrings, the necklace, the watch or the rings! But what I’m loving most at the moment are these Prada sunnies (another luxury purchase, I’m getting addicted!) – I love how they frame my face – they are knock out winners all the way!
Let me know what you think and I will be back with another post next week!
