Starting a new favorites series on the blog as I have tons of things to share that I’ve been loving every month. This will include everything from make up to fashion to books to music! Hope you enjoy this series and let me know your thoughts in the comments below 🙂

I used to be a completely no hassles – no make up person, but I have to say that ever since my move to Sydney I have started to pay a lot more attention to my appearance on a day to day basis as well which includes both make up and skincare. I don’t know if it’s peer pressure or what, but one of the things that really strike you when you move to a country like Australia or the US is that people spend a lot of time, money and energy on appearance and it’s a good thing and well, it’s inspired me to do that as well, of course to a certain extent and we are keeping in simple and minimal, as always.
One of my absolute favorite products over the last couple months has been this L’oreal BB Cream. I like light to medium coverage and my whole point of putting on a BB/CC cream or Tinted moisture is to brighten up my face and not look dull faced, which happens to me quite a lot, especially as I love to stress about everything 🙂 The shade I went for is “Gold” and it matches my skin tone quite well. It’s also super easy to apply and blend in and at the end of it you have a nice natural glow on your face, at least for 6-8 hours, because it really doesn’t last after that, but that serves my purpose. If you are in the market for a good BB cream, this one’s a good option! Top it off with a make up setting mist and you’ll have a nice glow on your face and it holds the cream in for longer.
I don’t know how I have not heard any of the influencers I follow talk about this mascara – it’s definitely one of the best in the market. Colorbar, in general, is also one of my most trusted make up brands. The fun thing about this mascara is that it comes with 2 wands – one is a soft “zoom” mascara, which gives you a very natural look while the “whoosh” band gives you a super dramatic effect, almost like you are wearing falsies.
This is such an economical product and you get the power of 2 in one. I have long eyelashes and so the first pink wand (you can see in the picture below) is good enough to give me a lift and make me look awake and hold fort for the drama with the whoosh band. Give this one a try, you won’t regret it!
I was on the lookout for a smudge free kaajal for quite a while. I used to swear by the MAC Gel liner until someone told me it’s not great for the eyes. The Plum kaajal is a cheaper and very effective replacement if you are looking for a dark, smudge proof kaajal.
TIP : For extra caution, since kaajal smudges for me more than it smudges for anyone I know, I dab a little compact on my under eye area before applying kaajal to further avoid the smudging.
One thing I don’t like about the kaajal is the sharpener that comes with it – not good at all. I’d rather buy another good quality sharpener than go with this low quality one, especially when you are short on time getting ready in the mornings! So order the kaajal and don’t go for the combo pack (kaajal pencil + sharpener)!
I bought this Kiehl’s face masque completely on whim, but I got lucky with such a power packed product! I love that it uses Turmeric as it’s base which is so highly considered in the Indian beauty scene ;), and adds cranberry seeds for that extra level of exfoliation. It’s a great brightening face masque which is exactly what I was looking for, and leaves you all radiant and glowing after you have washed it off.
You apply it for 10-15 minutes and while washing it off you rub the cranberry seeds in a circular motion to exfoliate the skin and the result is soft, supple, glowing skin. I am a complete fan and highly recommend this product, especially for bride-to-be’s or if you have a special event coming up!
Michael Kors Red Tote
There was no way I was going to go through my favorites list without adding my latest and greatest possession! What’s not to love about it? It’s a great statement piece and for more styling ideas you can read my post on it HERE.
This bag is all luxury – not only does it look great, it has great compartment space and you can feel the great quality. I am smitten, still. 🙂
I bought these earrings from Style Fiesta, which is one of my favorite accessory brands, a couple of months ago and it’s currently on top of my lust list! I love drop earrings, and the boho design with the tangles makes it such a statement piece. The great thing is you can pair it with anything, casual or dressy outfits, and it matches like a dream. Pretty much all jewelry I own is either gold or silver, since it goes with everything and doesn’t require much thought!
These Prada sunnies are the bomb! I am usually not leaving the house without it these days. It’s a classic cat eye frame and and makes everything look fashionable. These are going to be my classic go-to’s for months to come 🙂
I was looking all around to find the perfect pair of Mom jeans for myself and I finally got lucky at Topshop. I’ll be honest, I was surprised to find one which fit me so perfectly since I’m on the shorter side, but this one fits to a T. I am looking forward to wearing this in the summer months with crop tops and sneakers or dress it up for evening events with a nice pair of heels! Mom jeans are just so comfortable and a fun way to switch things up a little in your wardrobe!
VERO MODA Khaki Shrug
Last favorite of the month and ending on a fashion high, is this Khaki waterfall shrug I picked up from theiconic.com.au last month. It’s a great layering option and khaki is quite the color of the season, so I’m enjoying wearing it non stop. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the link of the product online, but I’ll keep a lookout for something similar 🙂
Hope you enjoyed this post – see you next time with another post soon 🙂
