It’s so great to finally be blogging again. I’ve missed it! In case you were curious why I was away – there has been some travelling, then work, then some more travelling and a lot more work! It’s been a crazy month but now I’m back to my everyday routine and I’ve learnt my lesson in planning ahead. Haha!

Coming straight to the point of this post, the pleated blue midi skirt. Now, we don’t have a Fall season, but it’s that time of the year in America and Europe and I’m quite obsessed with it. I remember last year this time I was in Chicago and I positively fell in love with the city and the weather. It’s slightly chilly (which in Indian weather means Winter ;)) and so the boots come out, everyone’s drinking Pumpkin Spice Latte, the lip colors become darker and the leaves change color again. All in all, I love it and I wanted to bring some of the inspiration here. One of the biggest Fall Trends is the leather pleated midi skirt and here is an outfit I put together with that theme in mind. Now, we really don’t need to wear leather here so I’m just making do with this chiffon skirt. I picked it up while I was in Delhi recently and I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of this one. It’s such an elegant, fun and beautiful piece to wear.

I was looking for an evening outfit and it was quite simple really to pair the skirt with a simple black top, black heels and some earrings and a gold bracelet. This is a perfect outfit for a date night or a business party! But thinking about some other ways to wear this skirt, I’d probably pair this with a sleeveless white crop top and nude heels for a brunch look or a button down shirt for work. It’s a simple but transitional piece and it had me at the color.

I’ve seen a lot of tall women rock midi skirts with sneakers and while that’s a fun trend to try out, if you’re petite like me, I would recommend playing on the safer side and always going with heels in such a case. You know I love my flats, but given the length of this skirt or any midi really, you need a pair of heels to add that height to your frame, otherwise chances are you are going to drown in this look.

That’s all I had for today! See you again soon 🙂 Let me know what you thought of this post in the comments below!edited 13
