An Evening at the Park

This post was scheduled to come out last Sunday, but it’s been such a crazy week that I’m just happy I can post it right now. This is the last in the series of the boho looks we shot with Vaishali! We almost didn’t shoot it but I’m so glad we did, because I love how simple, effortless and stylish this turned out to be. Since the first two outfits had us experimenting a tad bit with accessories, colors and prints, we decided to go simple with this look. This look is something you can wear to the park, reading your latest book under the shade, or lazing around and enjoying the warmth of the sun, just before it’s about to set.

Since such a day just screams comfort, we picked out basic pieces from Vaishali’s wardrobe, like light wash denims and a plain white tank. To add in some color and interest to the look, Vaish threw on a tribal print jacket and finished the look off with yellow jootis. In terms of accessories, we just added simple drop earrings and a silver choker necklace and voila! we were done!

This outfit is a perfect example of using those oft-neglected or oft-used pieces in your wardrobe to create a brand new look you’ve never worn before. Now everyone has the basic denims in black or blue and a plain black or white tee. To that, add a colorful blazer or a fun printed kimono or a lightweight cardigan. You can also experiment with colorful vests, printed or plain – I’m sure you can borrow some stuff from the men in your life. Mix and match, try different combinations, achieving a new look every single time.

I’m a fan of bright colored shoes, they are such a perfect foil to simple outfits. I love my red flats from Forever 21, or these yellow jootis that Vaish is wearing above. Paired with a simple outfit, they instantly up the fun quotient. Also, when you are channeling a boho look, it’s the accessories that make a look. Considering that we were going for a simple look, the pearl drop earrings were an easy pick and added a nice glow to Vaish’s face. The choker necklace, on the other hand, was an after thought, but I love how it pulls the whole look together matching with her watch and anklet.

I hope you enjoyed the post and the whole series!  We had a lot of fun conceptualizing and shooting this one. Also, huge thanks to Vaish for being so sporting and such a fun model 🙂
