Romper : Oxolloxo (Shop here), Denim Jacket : Forever 21, Bag : Allen Solly, Shoes : Add Ons

I’ve been apprehensive about the romper (or playsuit) ever since it made it’s grand entry into the world of fashion. I was worried about whether it’s too much skin, how will it fit me, will it suit my petite frame and so on. But when this pretty playsuit arrived in the mail and I tried it on for the first time, all my concerns were laid to rest. It’s actually the perfect thing to wear in the scorching summers. It’s super easy to get into, looks flattering on absolutely any shape or size, and lets your skin breathe, literally.

When I was scrolling through Oxolloxo’s website, the first thing I was drawn towards was the palm print. It’s so summery and fresh, and the beautiful mint color really stood out. The best thing about the romper though is the quality. It’s polyester, comes with an inner lining and feels great against your skin. It’s also super cute with a cut out at the back. Just the one gripe that I have was that it was a little loose. Their sizes usually start with an Extra Small, but most XS ones are sold out. But that’s a small enough problem, as you can easily style loose pieces with belts, jackets etc.

To complete my look, I paired the romper with a light wash denim jacket, my favorite blue mirrored sunglasses and a bright pink lip, all in the summer spirit. I also threw in a pair of nude heels and went with zero accessories as I wanted to keep it simple and fuss free for one of those hot days. The fun thing about rompers though, is the many many ways you can style it and transition it across weathers!

My favorite way to style a romper is to add a denim jacket. I think a nice wash denim jacket just elevates any outfit. But that’s not your only option when it comes to layering – you can add a light weight shirt, a sleeveless vest, and also a blazer for a more put together, professional look.

While we are still on the topic of layering, I think it’s appropriate for me to bring in one of my favorite summer layering pieces, the kimono. A kimono paired with a romper, with simple slide on shoes would be such a perfect summer look. I can’t wait to try it out!

Another fun way to wear a romper is to play around with your shoes – you can wear it with sneakers for a fun sporty look, gladiator sandals to highlight those long legs, jelly sandals to get through the monsoons and of course my favorites, strappy delicate sandals for a casual day out. You can also make it a more edgy look by adding some heels, maybe even some printed shoes to amp up a basic romper.

But a romper is not the only thing you can buy at Oxolloxo! They have a fun, fresh collection and everything is priced very reasonably. Don’t forget to check out their end of season sale where you can get some items at up to 70% off! Trust me, it will be worth it 🙂
